Flock of the Seraphim Demo History
The public demo season that 1.0 still stands on.
The Flock of the Seraphim demo launched on Steam on March 23, 2026 and finished Very Positive. It sold the ten-minute boss, up to ten angel weapons, keeps, meta currency, and random faces. Two community news posts still matter after 1.0 because the systems they added are the systems you are playing.

First big demo update
Angels all received passive abilities. Owned angels were supposed to gain an ability when you next launched. A sort-by-ability toggle arrived on the flock screen. That is why Passives and Stats exists as a page instead of a rumor.
Unlockable skins for the main character landed in the same note. Quality-of-life added a max FPS cap, a preferred display picker, and in-game achievement toasts on the left. Bug fixes and small optimization work came with it. The developer thanked players for more than 2,000 demo plays at that point.
Those skins are the start of Skins and Poses. Those video options are the start of the crash fix performance list.
Sword weapon update
A later note added Dual Sword / Sword: a short-ranged AoE slash. Split Shot changed so the second projectile fires behind the angel except on shotgun. Anti-aliasing became lowerable to raise FPS. Dual pistols received a new model that adapts to outfit color. Small UI changes shipped with a leaderboard reset after a run-breaking bug, plus more bullet fixes.
The developer mentioned more than 7,000 demo plays and more than 16,000 wishlists in that note. The sword is why melee has a real family on Weapon Types. The Split Shot line is why stance matters on Endless. The leaderboard reset is why this wiki treats boards as fragile.
What 1.0 added on top
The full store page moved the roster from “up to ten” to “over 20” angel weapon choices, kept the keep-and-spend spine, and advertised longer high-difficulty runs. Launch week then added the hotfix pile on Launch Hotfixes. The demo is still a hardware check. It is no longer the size of the toy.
How to read this log in 1.0
If a system feels older than the launch date, it probably is. Passives, skins, swords, FPS caps, and Split Shot’s rear bullet are demo inheritance. If a system feels broken, check the hotfix page before you blame the demo. If you are here to decide whether to buy, play the current build or the current demo, then read Getting Started. A changelog is a memory. The flock is the product.
If you are quoting a demo number in a 1.0 argument, label it. “Ten weapons” was a demo ceiling. “Over 20” is the 1.0 claim. Mixing those lines is how Steam threads turn into folklore. The same rule applies to play counts and wishlists from the sword note: they are history, not a live counter. Use them to understand pace, then open Getting Started and play the current build. The extra sentence is the whole point of labeling history.
