Flock of the Seraphim Meta Upgrades
A shopping order for the purse you extract from a crusade.
The store page is blunt: currency earned in the horde strengthens meta upgrades and angels outside the run. That is the account loop. This page is a spending order, not a leaked tree. If a node name is not on a public screen, we will not invent it.
If you have not kept an angel yet, read How to Unlock Angels first. Upgrading a gallery you do not own is how people feel poor.
What the purse is for
Two sinks sit next to each other. One juiced the families you already clear with. One juiced the global nodes that make every crusade less random: survivability, cadence, maybe a drop weight. Cosmetics and club boxes are overflow sinks. They are not night-one sinks.
A launch review called the meta generous and said it matters a lot. Believe that. A thin 1.0 roster still snowballs if the between-run shop is loud. That is also why a crash on the result screen hurts; the crash fix is part of the economy.
Night-one order
- Upgrade the closer you actually used. Shotgun, swords, or scythe — whichever deleted clumps.
- Upgrade the line you actually used. Bow or rifle — whichever touched the boss.
- Take one global node that makes the next ten minutes less random. Recovery or a cadence node beats a Luck node while you still die to stomps.
- Stop. Play another run. Do not empty the purse into a third family you never recruited.
This order matches starter builds. If your night-one flock was Plan A, the pistol and shotgun rows get fed. If you chase a scythe you never saw, you are shopping for a trailer.
After the first Endless attempt
Endless tells you which printed stat you starved. Empty magazines want reload and fire rate. Buried bosses want pierce. Spawn pockets want recovery and, more than any node, better feet. Read Endless Mode and the item tier list before you decide the meta tree is “wrong.”
Weapon-master grinds can wait until the spine is comfortable. Kaboom is a trophy, not a shopping reason. Tick masters on the unlock checklist after Steam agrees, not after you bankrupt the purse.
What not to buy yet
- Luck-first trees. The meaning of Luck is still a thread, not a patch note.
- Duplicate families you do not bring. The flock screen is the shopping list.
- Vanity before power. Skins can wait for overflow.
- Boxes you do not understand. If the club is quiet, leave it quiet.
When the shop feels empty
If nodes are grey, you are gated by a keep, a level, or a crash that ate the extract. Check Cloud, then the flock, then the hotfix log. If nodes are present and you are still lost, you are overthinking. Buy the spine, launch, and let the next death write the next node. Meta is oil. The Angels Hub is the engine. Do not polish the oil cap for an hour and call it progress.
If a node still has no public name, skip it. A grey mystery is not a secret carry. Play the spine you can already describe out loud, then come back with a death note. That is the whole shop.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What currency buys meta upgrades?
The currency you earn fighting hordes, as the store page describes. There is no listed cash shop for nodes.
What should I buy first?
The closer and the line you already used, then one global cadence or recovery node.
Should I buy Luck early?
No. Luck is an unexplained roll weight. Buy it later if you are hunting drops, not if you are dying to stomps.
Do upgrades apply mid-run?
Meta is sold as an outside-the-crusade shop. Buy it in the hub, then launch.
